Suction dredger in Zwolle
Commissioned by Gebhard Elektro, we have realized a fiber optic network on a suction dredger in Zwolle. A suction dredger is a ship that is equipped to suck up sand from the bottom and transport the sand to land via a pump. Initially it was a test. With the fiber optic cabling that we supply, the passengers monitor how many cubic meters of sand pass through the pipeline, the diesel consumption and everything that goes with it. All metering runs via this fiber optic network. This test was successful and we can now continue to build on the communication infrastructures on the ship.
The work
The ship will be moved in the coming period. This means that the high-voltage cables that run to the boat will be replaced and new fiberglass will be installed. And then of course it is up to us to link all systems back together. Gephard Elektro regulates the voltage. We take care of the communication between the mainland and the ship.
